Skin Rejuvenation

What is Skin Rejuvenation?

Rejuvenation is anything that makes the skin look better — skincare products, treatments or in-office procedures — while resurfacing refers to a treatment or procedure that physically removes the top layer of the skin. Lasers, acids or other means remove damaged cells on the skin's surface. A non-invasive treatment which is used though light source to stimulate natural collagen growth. What is it used to treat?

Skin rejuvenation is a process to encourage natural collagen growth, improve pores, remove irregular pigmentation or red/thread veins, and reduction of fine lines and wrinkles. New collagen is generated, therefore fine lines and wrinkles are decreased.
Laser resurfacing uses light and heat energy to “destroy” thin sections of skin. The laser will remove the top layer of skin while heating the underlying layers. This stimulates the growth of new collagen fibres, resulting in new skin growth that is much smoother.

What are two main skin rejuvenation types?

There are two main types of skin rejuvenation treatment. The first involves removing dead or tired skin cells, such as skin peels and micro-needling. These treatments disrupt the top layer of skin cells and encourage the skin to revitalise and become stronger and healthier.
The second type of skin rejuvenation treatment is minimally invasive, such as anti-ageing injections and allow the skin to appear fuller by reducing the appearance of wrinkles or loss of facial volume.

Side effects

Redness and irritation are the most common side effects after a laser treatment due to the body reacting to the laser. This should wear off within 48 hours. Your skin will start to peel.
