Sports & Remedial Massage
A very effective treatment for a variety of health conditions.
What is Sports & Remedial Massage
Sports Massage is a form of massage involving the manipulation of soft tissue to benefit a person engaged in regular physical activity. The application of sports massage, prior to and after exercise, may enhance performance, aid recovery and prevent injury.
Remedial Massage is a complementary therapy which aims to treat muscles that are damaged, knotted, tense or immobile. It is useful for a number of problems that affect the muscles, tendons and bones.
What is it used to treat?
Sport Massage is a pain reduction – Tension and waste products in muscles can often cause pain. Massage helps reduce this in many ways including releasing the bodies endorphins. Relaxation – Muscles relax through heat generated, circulation and stretching.
Remedial Massage can stimulate the blood supply, make joints more mobile, and help to repair damaged tissues. The therapist will aim to balance
the length, tone and tension of muscles and tendons, which restores the correct position of the bones, increases blood flow and helps heal injuries.
This treatment is not just for individuals who suffer from sports injuries; it is effective for muscular and soft tissue issues or injuries, whether it is due to posture, occupational stress, or sporting activities. Sports and Remedial Massage helps recovery from injury as well as preventing injuries.
